CACDA, the Canterbury Arts Centre Development Association, is a registered charitable organization dedicated to raising funds for the Arts Canterbury program. We are a volunteer organization made up of parents, alumni and former staff from the Arts Canterbury program. Arts Canterbury is the intensive specialty arts program at Canterbury High School in Ottawa, Canada.

We help sponsor the auditions, provide bursaries and we provide funds for supplies and special purchases. You can help us do that by sending in a donation, contributing to the Endowment Fund or volunteering to help on special projects.

CACDA has set up an Endowment Fund that will ensure long-term financial support for the Arts Canterbury Program. To date, over $118,000 has been donated to the endowment, which will generate over $4,000 each year to help the Arts Program.

But we still have a long way to go to reach our goal of $250,000, so everyone is encouraged to contribute to the Fund. Donations to the Endowment Fund will receive charitable receipts from the Community Foundation of Ottawa.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far!

CACDA PAYS FOR $30,000 NEW SOUND SYSTEM

In 2009, CACDA paid $30,000 for a new sound system for the Barrie Alexander auditorium, covering the entire cost of replacing wiring and speakers so that sound can be crisp, even, and reliable whether for student assemblies, poetry readings, dance nights, music nights, or the biannual musical. To learn more about what we have done recently, check out the details from our last AGM held on Oct 13, 2009.
